2022 New Toyota Hilux Facelift Redesign – Toyota Hilux is one of the best and best-selling pickup trucks in the world despite the fact it is not sold in the US. As a substitute, Toyota has Tacoma, which is almost the same size and is equally tough and can hardly be broken. Although the two are mechanically related, there are clear differences in styling style.
From a number of leaked images seen in several media, it seems that Toyota as a Japanese car manufacturer has decided to make the New Toyota Hilux 2022 facelift more visually aligned with Tacoma’s cousin in the North American market.
2022 New Toyota Hilux Facelift
The New Toyota Hilux 2022 model, now seems to use thick grille like the Toyota Tacoma 2022 display, and the website claims Toyota will offer two headlights, one LED and another LED / halogen combo for lower trim levels. Rear lights are also redesigned.

However, this outstanding image is a 2022 Toyota Hilux Concept, so there is still a possibility they do not accurately reflect the final design 100 percent.
New Toyota Hilux Exterior
In terms of exterior appearance, the Toyota Hilux 2022 Facelift not only shows a new front and rear end, the Hilux Facelift 2022 also seems to show some of the most up-to-date appearance of most trucks today. Toyota had previously told CarAdvice Australia that the 2022 New Toyota Hilux Redesign facelift had been affected by the appearance of the New Toyota Tacoma, so there was a pretty good chance that this rendering was close enough to the rear agreement.
Looks like Toyota is not only moving Tacoma and Tundra to the shared platform, but also on the next generation Toyota Hilux facelift. 2022 New Toyota Hilux is currently entering the market for the first time in 2015 so that this latest facelift will remain fresh for the next few years.
Although it’s not certain the arrival of the All New Toyota Tacoma, if you remember that the current generation is also receiving a style update that features new LED lights and some other feature enhancements, it’s probably still a few more years. The full-size Toyota Tundra actually needs a bigger replacement than the Toyota Tacoma, and we hope that the redesign arrives around 2022.
Toyota is in no hurry to replace the Toyota Tacoma 2022 because it has become the best-selling medium-sized truck in the US despite new competition from the Ford Ranger and Jeep Gladiator.
New Toyota Hilux Performance
2022 New Toyota Hilux Facelift is expected to be able to carry a reliable engine in the form of a V6 engine that produces power up to 278 horsepower stronger, like the Toyota Tacoma will not break the ground speed record. Even though this is the most powerful powertrain that will be carried by the Toyota Hilux 2022, it still takes about eight seconds to break the 60 mph figure. This achievement is slightly slower than more performance-oriented competitors such as the Ford Ranger. However, like Tacoma, the Toyota Hilux is not designed to be a truck that relies on speed, but this truck is expected to be a reliable off-roader and respected hard worker.
In this capacity, it doesn’t disappoint, at least not when equipped with a V6 engine. While the four-cylinder base in the lower trim is only rated for pulling 3,500 lbs of weight, the V6 engine’s more powerful trim variant trim can handle between 6,400 to 6,800 lbs if properly equipped.
The main competitor who can handle larger loads is the Ford Ranger which is able to pull up to 7,500 pounds, while the Chevy Colorado 2022 diesel trim can pull loads up to 7,000 pounds.
For maximum off-road capability, the 2022 New Toyota Hilux Facelift is expected to complete a 4×4 drivetrain and is equipped with a dual-range transfer case for crossing sticky terrain.
New Toyota Hilux Engine
In terms of engine, Toyota Hilux is also expected to be able to provide engine variants such as the Toyota Tacoma 2022, which provides two engines. The two engines have a capacity of 2.7 liters of four cylinders that produce power of 159 horsepower and produce torque of 180 lb-ft.
This simple power is driven through a six-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels (RWD). The next engine variant is the 3.5 liter V6 engine that develops power up to 278 horsepower and produces 265 lb-ft of torque which is far more impressive for the rear wheels (RWD) on everything by TRD Off-Road and TRD Pro, which has four -wheel-drive (FWD) by default.
Each other trim offers four-wheel drive as an option, but a six-speed manual gearbox is reserved for TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road and TRD Pro trims.
Using a simple basic engine, it’s a polite way of saying that the engine is underpowered for anything except the daily driver and light loads. For heavier tasks and carrying the Toyota Hilux 2022, we are all about the power and reliability of the V6 engine options in the 2022 New Toyota Hilux Facelift. Unfortunately, for daily driving, the automatic transmission feels heavy, and the manual option is our recommendation for trucks that will travel longer distances on the road.
If driving on sticky, hard and rocky roads, TRD Off Road and TRD Pro, automatic transmission is not a big problem. Assisted by a four-wheel drive system and electronic aids, automatic transmissions are more than competent in very important places.
New Toyota Hilux Interior
Next we will see the interior of the 2022 Toyota Hilux Facelift which is expected to be improved from that obtained by the Toyota Tacoma in the previous generation. Toyota has made several changes this year to support this weakness. Upholstery fabrics come standard, with leather available in the top trim, and solid build quality.
Some controls are logical and easy to use, and returns to physical buttons are welcomed from the hassle of touch screen input. There is enough space in the cabin, but the driver’s seat finally gets the power adjusted to overcome the bad position of previous years.
The infotainment system is now easy to operate and the inclusion of Android Auto and Amazon Alexa, and Apple CarPlay on each model is certainly a pretty good improvement considering competition in the truck segment is getting tougher.
New Toyota Hilux Infotaiment
Improvements to the infotaiment system such as the addition of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity are actually too late but are welcomed. There is a new eight-inch screen for infotainment systems which are also accepted but are already worn out. The screen looks not too bright, and the buttons around it are small and feel cheap when pressed. The volume buttons are also small and will be annoying for anyone so this needs to be considered in the latest generation of the 2022 New Toyota Hilux Facelift.
2022 Toyota Hilux Expected to be able to provide a good audio system, you will listen to good quality audio through six standard speakers, although the JBL sound system on the top trim has better audio quality.
Some interesting features for higher trims are the inclusion of multi-field monitors. Unfortunately, the display and resolution is low, and requires a camera or screen to be something that people will wholeheartedly rely on.
